Try 1-573-596-1498 for Daugherty Bowl. (It may have changed--they often change numbers around at the Fort.)

There is also Lighthouse Lanes in Springfield.
350 S.Glenstone Avenue, Springfield, MO 65802
It is family friendly, no smoking or alcohol. They also play Christian music. We love to go there.

i don't go to starlite, just b/c when my hours are free the lanes are booked tight with leagues....
I wish it was that easy. My parents owned the Bowling alley before it was sold to Tabernacle. They had busy times, but for the most part people didnt leave what they were use too. They also opened a music theater, no alcohol, no smoking, but the same bands that draw a huge crowd at the bar venues, wont bring in 10 people.

don't know about that bowling alley, since it always looked closed to me since i moved here....

however more and more non smokers complaining about smokers and lack of places to go that are smoke free, and i bet they could do a good business....my only gripe about the smoking issue is, the state or federal government should NOT control who allows smoking in their business.

Tabernacle baptist on sf road may not allow her to bowl due to her illness. I went to that church and my mom and kids too and I was asked to leave and never come back. They told me they didn't want me infecting their families. They dis enrolled my kids from their school and kept them separated till I came and got them. That is when I put them in public schools. I had just found out I was sick with a liver disease and called the church looking for answers. Not knowing what it was I had. Since then I did a year of chemo and have been in remission since 2001.
Sorry to be the bearer of this kind of news. I hope you do find a place for Haley to be active at. Maybe the civic center will let her in free due to her illness. Pray, then ask. It never hurts to ask the worst they can say is no.
God Bless you and your family. You will continue to be in our prayers.

That sure sounds like a story there's another side to.

Would You like to elaborate?
I think She explained the scenario and the way things happened from Her point of view. If You have a reason to think She's being deceptive, or not truthful, then let's hear it.

The same thing happened to me in this town in 2004. I answered an employment ad and showed up the next morning at a freshly poured foundation. On the third day we (3 guys) had most of the house up, when i happened to mention during lunch that i had done chemo for hepatitis C and was three years clear. The look on the dudes face was priceless, you woulda thought someone had dissed the rednecks pickup truck. I was let go very nicely the next morning, and they even told me that was why. I told him i wasn't planning on gettin' any closer to him then my kids mom...but thanks for showing me the way out.

Both of us could have, and should have went straight to Springfield and got a lawyer and sued for discrimination.

Cheers,
phat

I'm saying she comes on here and makes an inflamatory statement against a church well known for its selfless outreach (I've been there more than once and seen the money and the work that goes into hosting a couple hundred Soldiers EVERY WEEK). I'm not inclined to believe that's all there is to the story since I know the pastor of the church personally.

I don't doubt that's the way she remembers it, I just think it's unwise for anyone else to allow this one person's testimony influence what they think of that church without hearing the other side of the story.

I'm going to side with Phat/Tress on this one. If you think that there's no discrimination against some one with health issues you're grossly mistaken.

Sorry you guys had to go through that. Hope all is well.

Sorry you and your family were treated that way Tress, I'm so thrilled you are in remission. You are a Angle in my eyes I'm so very happy God has brought you into my life.
