I heard a officer safety report on the scanner about a double homicide. Apparently the person who did this hasn't been caught.

Just got this from the schools "R-3 e-news":
"This morning a fifth grade Boswell student and his mother were killed in what appears to be a double homicide. Security measures have been taken at R-3 schools in response to the report that the suspect in the crime has not been apprehended.

School counselors are working with students and staff as they deal with the death of our student."

Sad deal. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

KY3 News Story--

LEBANON, Mo. -- The Laclede County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are investigating the murders of a boy and an adult in a home just north of Lebanon. They're looking fora 43-year-old man who may be driving a 2007 GMC truck with Missouri license number 1HH-951. The suspect also has a 2005 Nissan SUV with Missouri license SF1-X9B.

Law enforcement officers were called about 8 a.m. Friday but they think the murders were about 10 p.m. Thursday. The home is near Greenfield Road at Goldenwood, west of Missouri 5, north of Atchley Park. Officers blocked off access to the neighborhood while they process the crime scene.

Law enforcement officers say the boy was a fifth-grade student at Boswell (4-5) School. The boy has a brother who is a student at Maplecrest (2-3) School but that brother didn't go to school on Friday. The Lebanon School District did a preventive lockdown at both schools about 9:30 a.m., with extra security at the entrances.

I didn't hear this, but according to a friend of mine, KJEL radio has identified the victims as the wife of the owner of the local Sonic restaurant and her child.
